Maybe one with wheels to follow the sun and a pull out tray for drinks and your novel is what you have been dreaming of. Or perhaps one with armrests is more your style. There are so many styles of teak chaise lounges available you are bound to find on that suits your fancy. Try one that is a mix of teak, steel and durable batyline fabric for a look right out of South Beach. Or outfit your deck or poolside with loungers that are the picture of modern Asian allure.
Originally, the frames for the very first chaise lounge chairs used in drawing rooms was made from wood. Variations on the indoor chairs also brought about a mobile chaise lounge made from metal used by the French army. This seat was portable and could be folded and unfolded. Today, most indoor chaise lounge frames are still made from wood, some of which is ornately carved. While there also exist chaise loungers with metal frames, they are not nearly as portable or foldable as were their predecessors. For indoor use, it is assumed that the chair will not be moved around very often, so weight and ease of movement are not of chief priority.
Imagine sprawling back in total comfort with your feet up sipping a sundowner, reading a book or just enjoying the sunset or a picture on the wall. As a way to sit down with your feet up or just kick back in total comfort, you really can't beat a chaise lounge chair. A chaise can be used for an afternoon siesta or just a place to sprawl and read or think. It's the most relaxation-inducing item of furniture on the market.
Basic Design, basically, the chaise lounger is an elongated chair resembling a couch except for two things - first, the back support portion of the lounge slants toward the back, thus, making for a reclined position with the feet fully elongated possible; and second; the armrests may or may not be present in the chaise lounge. The individual was expected to lie on his back while using the lounge furniture. In contrast, the recliner chairs from ancient Greece had men and women lying on their sides.
