The classic indoor chaise lounge screams French decadence with its flowing lines and hardly a straight line or ninety degree angle in sight. French furniture makers are well renowned for their artistic flair and of being able to bring a touch of romance to their furniture and this is nowhere more obvious than in the classic chaise lounge. So if you're looking for a classy but somehow romantic piece of furniture whether for the bedroom, sitting room, or even your study the chaise lounge is your only choice, its like buying two pieces of furniture in one. Firstly there's the comfort, the long chair allows you to stretch out, lie down or sit virtually in any position, so it's great for reading a book or for taking an afternoon nap. Secondly it's extremely good looks make it very difficult for an ordinary chair or sofa to match its plush, smooth lines.
There are a number of pool lounge chairs which are now available in the market which are simple yet decent designed mostly made of a few strips of metal and plastic sheets to hold the weight of a person. There are however more complex designs available as well with many adjusting levers to ensure the comfort of its users and are made of aluminum or other light weight alloys which also do not get heat up under the sun. Others might have inflatable tubes attached to them making them afloat on the pool water, some might have day built-in beds as well.
Maybe one with wheels to follow the sun and a pull out tray for drinks and your novel is what you have been dreaming of. Or perhaps one with armrests is more your style. There are so many styles of teak chaise lounges available you are bound to find on that suits your fancy. Try one that is a mix of teak, steel and durable batyline fabric for a look right out of South Beach. Or outfit your deck or poolside with loungers that are the picture of modern Asian allure.
The Recamier is sometimes mistaken for a chaise lounge because of its similar appearance, but they do in fact look different. This seat was named for its appearance in the 1800 painting of me. Recamier by Jacques-Louis David and came thereafter to be associated with the French socialite.
