Wooden lounges need to be accompanied with a soft cushion that is usually sold separately. The wood frame will often last much longer than the cushion. They are very comfortable and secure and much more suitable for those people that might weigh a bit more. These lounges will not be thrown about by the wind and will stay put on the patio.
When you want to redo your backyard, garden, patio or pool side area, a chaise lounge is a perfect addition whether you are creating a personal space for relaxation purposes or a place where you and your family can consider a haven and weekend get away. Do your homework well and take time to determine the type of furniture that you really need to buy.
The chair stays true to neo-classical sensibilities, while sporting a rounded backrest which extends into two sloping armrests, thus taking on a wide U shape. They closely resemble a traditional French lit bateau, or boat bed, though designed for common areas rather than the bedroom. Predominantly backless, there are some Recamiers with backs along the long edge of the seat. The term itself Recamier can be applied to other loose types of furniture design.
Chairs from companies such as Strathwood, Faulkner and Lafuma also feature zero-gravity or anti-gravity technology to relieve muscle tension and stress, and are light and easily transportable. You can buy traditional chaise lounge chairs with or without padded seats or armrests, and many now provide padded headrests for extra ergonomic support.
