Going Extra Wide. Wide hammocks are designed for the comfort of larger adults or to allow two or more people to relax together. Most extra wide hammocks are fitted with a spreader bar to help keep the net, rope or fabric spread at the two ends. The spreader bars keep the hammock from "cocooning," or wrapping itself around the occupant, and make it easier to get in and out of the suspended swing.
Hammock Chairs, hammock chairs are designed to hang from a single overhead suspension point, making them especially popular in dorm rooms and on porches and patios. The wide net expands to allow you to sit or lounge in perfect comfort for reading, napping or just hanging out. They come in a wide range of colors, including natural, earthy colors and bright, Caribbean inspired rainbow stripes, so it's easy to match a hammock chair to your decor.
Next is the lovely Meridienne. This is one of the more interesting types of chaise lounge because of its eye-catching asymmetry. The top of the chair begins with a higher than normal headrest, followed by a gradually sloping backrest down the side, and the result is something which looks like a daybed. Next to it can be found a matching footstool. The Meridienne enjoyed popularity in Western Europe during the same time as the Recamier and was meant to be used as a bed for midday naps, when the sun is closest to the meridian.
Basic Design, basically, the chaise lounger is an elongated chair resembling a couch except for two things - first, the back support portion of the lounge slants toward the back, thus, making for a reclined position with the feet fully elongated possible; and second; the armrests may or may not be present in the chaise lounge. The individual was expected to lie on his back while using the lounge furniture. In contrast, the recliner chairs from ancient Greece had men and women lying on their sides.
