Maybe one with wheels to follow the sun and a pull out tray for drinks and your novel is what you have been dreaming of. Or perhaps one with armrests is more your style. There are so many styles of teak chaise lounges available you are bound to find on that suits your fancy. Try one that is a mix of teak, steel and durable batyline fabric for a look right out of South Beach. Or outfit your deck or poolside with loungers that are the picture of modern Asian allure.
Outdoor chaise lounges are one of the most comfortable furniture pieces one can own. They allow one to recline while being fully supported. Chaises are very common pieces of outdoor furniture and many folks choose to include them as part of the seating areas, especially by pools. Some chaises are adjustable and can be fully reclined so that they function like an outdoor bed. These pieces of outdoor furniture are ideal for sunbathers, those who enjoy a nap in nature, and those who use their outdoor space for optimum relaxation.
As one of those anomalies of folk etymology, the term "chaise lounge" is actually an error of American invention. The proper term for the chair is "chaise longue," but Americans have been mispronouncing the word since 1850 so it has become engrained into the culture. Today, both versions are accepted, though the former is by far the more popular. In its simplest description, a chaise lounge is a couch-like seat, (usually) upholstered, but in the shape of an extended chair and with four legs.
As you can imagine, the major consideration in finding the right lounge chair for outdoor spaces is durability and comfort. That means finding one that is not only comfortable to sit in, but which won't become too hot after a day in the sun. If you've ever sat in a metal lawn chair or one of those cheap plastic molded ones, you know how unpleasant that can be.
